--optical retraining--

i am thinking about the eye, and it's many ailments the last few days...about near/far sighted issues, lazy pupil dilation, and others, as a result, i have been trying some simple eye exercises, to improve focus potential, at near, and far, distances--

  my techniques/results( B.S.)--

to start with, i am noticing that if a person has cornea damage, i believe the reason their vision goes bad after a short while, is due to the eye constantly trying to readjust the pupil, to see through a scratched/damaged cornea( like a broken window)...therefore, i suggest that the solution is for the eye to have a patch( blinder), to prevent this "over-focus condition" from causing a miss-shaping of the retina( due to over-building of the small muscle tissue within the eye, in one part of the retina's ring), thus, causing poor vision--

i also suggest, "optical work-outs", with regular repetitions, that will "pump-your-retinas-up", like arnold's bulging retina's, that won "mr universe", a couple billion times( humor, be it dry)...

  the question--

can we exercise a certain part of the retina's ring, to cause it to be correctly round, instead of deploying lasers( i feel lasers can "cook" the retina, like a steak in the microwave, causing a slow-focus condition, due to "over-stiff " retina tissue)??...so, i believe the answer is, yes( an exercise will work), by looking through a lens, in a special pair of glasses( one that causes a certain part of the ring of the retina to contract)...in this way, we can cause a natural tightness, in the retina's muscle tissue, very much like a person's abdominal muscles get, after many sit-ups...causing correct optical function, of the retina( tightening a specific portion of the retina's smooth muscle, like "lasik eye surgery" does)--

 another insight--

can we do a work-out, to improve focus time, from near to far, and there-by increase how close a person can focus, and how far away they can see??...i believe we can--

   the exercise--

--(talk to your eye-doctor about the silliness of this concept, and the wisdom...if any, of trying it)--

look at your watch-face, as close as you can, so the hands, and small ticks( analog watch), are barely in focus, then look as far away as you can, and try to focus( best done outside, or at a window), repeat this as many times as you can, until bored, or a headache sets in--

the idea is to force the retina to go as close as possible( in it's range), and then as far away as it can( in it's range), as quickly as possible, there-by increasing range, and reaction time, in the same exercise...

summary--

so far, i have had good results, i will post more later, the only negative side effects thus far, are odd looks from strangers/passers-by, not "up-to-speed" on my little experiment( i have yet to be hauled off to the loony-bin during an exercise session)--

   best wishes...john kruschke--
