--sun and star formation principals--

i suggest, a sun, or star, is formed from an asteroid field, of enormous size, the same as a planet(see planet formation post), after the core of the sun begins to rotate, and goes molten , the rest of the asteroid field is engulfed by the core of the sun, in a "swirly pattern"( black hole), due to the gravity increasing exponentially, as the core gains mass( see max-flow vectors post)--
the sun's core is so great, that after the largest asteroids in the field are drawn to the core, they do not form a crust, as a planet does, but are also made molten...a sun, then is, in fact, a planet, with a core so huge, it can have no surface, from the incredible gravity, and size of it's core--

   solar-flares--

i feel that our sun's gravity, is still drawing all things to it, while we are in orbit, and that we cannot see the sun still engulfing small particles(space-dust), from space, as they join the jumble of the sun's core--

but, since the gravity of the sun is stabilized, there is no room for these extra molecules(in the sun's core/atmosphere)...so, some molecules must be kicked away(in an exchange), out of the sun's outer core(atmosphere), and radiated away(to us on earth), like a marble is kicked out of the chalk circle, in the child-hood game of marbles--
i believe this "convection" of space-dust, entering the sun's atmosphere(core), and the resulting molecules radiating out(solar flares), is why we have heat, here on earth, the source of these small particles is vast, but not infinite, and that billions, and billions, of years from now(Carl Segan rocks), when our sun has exhausted this fuel, it will go dormant...
also of note...the space dust i am speaking of, might explain why, in the movie the "right stuff", John Glenn was shown to see small "firefly-like" objects at his window...i feel, this space-dust/debris would likely be crystalline in nature, and that the "flats" of this "space-dust", would then reflect the sun's rays, like a mirror, when hit by them at the right angle, creating the phenomenon described in the film--
